If I have any obsessive compulsive readers, they may have noticed that there was no Friday night music two weeks ago (or was it three?). I had prepared this post, but apparently never hit the publish button, so it remained, unbeknownst to me, in among the drafts, those orphaned pieces of writing that didn’t make the cut even considering the low standards on this blog.
I meant to post these Everly Brothers videos, in line with a series of videos from the Fifties. So without further ado, what follows is the text of the original post which started out by asking:
Who’s the dork who introduces them on this one? What an …hole. Bye Bye Love:

For some reason I cannot post this comment. So in short form. It would be fun for Friday Night Music in the future to pair the Everly Brothers with Simon and Garfunkel. S&G credit the Everlys for their sound and some of their inspirations.
The dork/ahole you speak of is almost undoubtedly Julius LaRosa who was a big time singing star and TV star in the early to mid 50s. When Arthur Godfrey abruptly fired him from his television show, LaRosa became a front page story for weeks and almost brought the immensely popular Godfrey down. Much later, in the 70s, LaRosa was a disk jockey on WNEW Radio.
For some reason, which I can’t explain, your comments always need approval. Everyone else who is approved once is approved forever. Someone on the internet doesn’t like you.
