It’s melting

At the present time the Yankees are beating Baltimore and the Red Sox are losing to the Bluejays. After tonight, the lead will be a game and a half. I have had faith throughout the season that the Sox could snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.

Normally, I like to rely on reason, but with the Red Sox, faith in the always imminent meltdown is, paradoxically, based solidly on reason. That may be a contradiction, but it is nonetheless true.

One small consolation: It does appear to be almost mathematically impossible for them to miss the playoffs, but don’t sell them short.
